There is one significant charity event in the R2R calender next year - participation in the Tour de Force
R2R are delighted to be allowed to participate in the William Wates Memorial Trust event in 2010 - The Tour de France route of 2010 just 2 weeks before the real race!
R2R will take part with a team of around 14 along with over 100 other riders who are supporting the Trust - imagine the peleton riding to the centre of Paris! Amongst them, they will attempt to cover the entire 20 stages in 3 weeks (with 2 rest days)! At least 2 of the team will be attempting all 20 stages! but the number of stages that each rider wants to participate in can be as few or as may as they like. The challenge is not only to cover most of the most gruelling and prestigeous routes in cycling but also to raise £1200 per rider to go to the Trust who support disadvantaged children. Thankfully the event is fully and professionally managed by the Memorial Trust and Classic Tours who have significant experience in running this and other events.
The Challenge:
Total Distance: 3600 Km
The "Tour de Force" follows the precise route of the main tour, all 20 stages, starting in Rotterdam and finishing in Paris. The dream of many enthusiastic cyclists.

First Training Ride in Herts Jan 2010.
